Shake Your Sillies Out…with Brain Wave Vibration

When my two children were toddlers, one of their favorite musicians was a wonderful, cheerful singer named Raffi. He was the James Taylor of the pre-school, playgroup crowd. One of Emily and Ben’s favorite songs was “Shake Your Sillies Out.”

During this goofy and fun song, children were instructed to shake each part of their body until all their “sillies” were dissipated. The result? The children were gloriously uninhibited, and shook until they were spent, peaceful, and quietly happy. That little ditty left them feeling positive, relaxed, and ready for the next game. And they were always positive and happy to do so.

Why bring this anecdotal memory to a discussion on Brain Wave Vibration? Because, just as “Shake Your Sillies Out” led to peaceful, happy children, utilizing the simple techniques of Brain Wave Vibration leads to the exact same physiologic and mental place. And the result is the same: peaceful, happy adults eager to share and encourage positive behavior.

Regardless of age, agility or motor skills, we can all learn this simplistic, yet powerful tool to achieve mental and physical clarity that can take us through all of life’s challenges. Don’t silently shake your head no! On second thought, take that negative gesture and continue doing it for about a minute or two. Shake your head “no” from side to side gently.

Now, how does your body feel? A little tingly? Maybe even some of those muscle knots started to unravel? Less tense, perhaps?

Well congratulations to you, because you have successfully taken your “negative” first reaction to a “positive” re-adjustment of your brain activity. Now that wasn’t hard, was it?

That’s about all there is to learning Brain Wave Vibration. By taking the simple action of moving your head back and forth you have learned the basic premise of Brain Wave Vibration.

By stimulating the brain through uninhibited movement, you have freed a part of your brain that “shoulds” on you all the time. For just a moment, “should” is not an option in your life. You have opened your head, heart and spirit to all that is good, worthwhile and inspirational in the world.

Now if we could all be as uninhibited as our children, our brains and bodies would thank us for taking such good care of its host!

Of course, children don’t have the same stresses as adults have, and can learn to release those tensions easily when taught how to direct hyper-activity into positive tasks. Adults don’t have it quite so cheery.

We have daily stresses that today, can seem insurmountable. Financial disharmony, workplace drama and miscommunication can often lead to stress that burrows into our very psyches.

Many of us use over-eating as a panacea for what truly ails us, or over-exercising to the point of near-starvation. These habits, ingrained early because we were never “taught” how to “shake our stresses out” and so, they remain with us. Unless we choose to change our behavior and direct our automatic “fight or flight” response to a calming routine, we are destined to walk around stuck with our “sillies.”

Brain Wave Vibration exercises work because at heart, we are all children, eager to dance off negative energy and calm our racing thoughts. As author of Brain Wave Vibration, Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life, Ilchi Lee, posits on page 20:

“…this healing, self-development method can be learned in two minutes. It has been proven to heal, create and love.”

As our energy fields attract more positive changes in our outlook and behavior, this simple exercise may help create a sense of well-being, and bring a more positive, welcoming, and forgiving philosophy that may last all our life.

And, if everyone learned how to “shake their sillies out” by practicing Brain Wave Vibration wouldn’t this be a truly magical world indeed?
