In a quest to relieve both my growing back pain and increasing anxiety, I walked into a Dahn Yoga center three months ago. The experience has been very helpful for me! Let me briefly tell you why. First, each session is a wonderful, muscle-building workout. Physically, I have increased my muscle mass and reduced my back pain. Most importantly, I am learning how to recognize when my body needs extra attention instead of ignoring what my body is trying to tell me. On a mental level, making the mind/body connection helps me calm my often speed of light thought processes. Instead of having a thousand thoughts a minute, I am learning to recognize those moments and calm my mind instead. This process has helped my reduce my anxiety, and, most importantly, make me realize that I have control over how my mind and body work together. On a spiritual level, I feel even more connected to God than ever before. I experience Him now, not just in my mind, but also in my body. I ground myself in God by grounding myself to the earth that He created. Take the Initial Awakening class once you have practiced Dahn Yoga for a while. It will pull the pieces together for you and make you realize how important your Dahn-jon really is.
